We have been at home since Christmas and we couldn’t meet neither at school nor in our Ecology Club. Finally, we started our online meetings. During our virtual meetings we were dealing with a problem, how to continue in project PULCHRA. We were planning a clean-up the Chamomile Hills in spring. Every year children with their families go to the near area of Chamomile Hills and collect rubbish. But: will it be possible this year?
Táňa, a member of our PULCHRA reporters team, made up to use our school websites and put the challenge there: students of our school should take part in the cleaning themselves and take a photo with the collected rubbish. We were waiting with suspension… Finally, 15 children sent their photographs, but according to the big amount of collected rubbish, it was clear that many more people participated. This event was joined by the 1st grade classes – they have already been at school at that time.
The strong point of this event was that this time the collected rubbish was sorted out and most of it ended up in containers for sorted waste.
You can learn more about Chamomile Hills in a video created by Daniel Dvořák, student of 7th grade below.
