The team of the National College Dinicu Golescu (Romania) finished the Pollution Map Project – The anthropic impact on the environment in the Campulung municipality. Our team is called WAGE because we want to analyze Water, Air, vegetation (Green), and be real Explorers.
WAGE team started this project with an environmental survey addressed to the citizens of Campulung. We were glad to find out that 72% of the respondents are young people and that they are aware of the environmental problems of the city, the most serious one being air pollution.
Therefore, through our project we have placed air pollution measurement sensors throughout the city. The measurement results can be followed in real time on the specially created website. Soon we will make a mobile app to inform the citizens of Campulung about the factors and the degree of air pollution in the area.
We want the website and the mobile app to be the starting point for future projects that will lead Campulung to a sustainable smart city, a true urban ecosystem.
