The 2nd Open School Event «Share your PULCHRA challenges» was successfully held on November 22, 2021, organized by the Open University of Cyprus, in order to highlight the actions and the way of implementation of the five (5) schools participating in the European Horizon 2020 Program ‘PULCHRA: Science in the city : Building Participatory Urban Learning Community Hubs through Research and Activation’ from Cyprus.
The schools are as follows: Agios Ioannis Lyceum, Apeition Lyceum of Agros, Foti Pitta Lyceum, Paralimni Lyceum, Foti Pitta Lyceum
Guests that joined us included the Minister of Transport Communications and Work Mr. Yiannis Karousos, President, Vice-Rector and Director of the Open University of Cyprus, and the Head of Corporate Social Responsibility of CYTA Mr. Theodoulos Makrygiannis.
The meeting aimed to send a strong message to the policymakers that our young researchers today have concerns but mainly have an opinion and solutions to suggest. The representatives (Science Team) of the 5 schools presented the actions they undertook and then with a poster presentation presented to the Minister, the main points of their work which are related to waste management, mobility, microclimate, air pollution, and food waste.
