Silver award at the Cyprus Education Leaders Awards 2021, in the category “Bonding with Society”, was secured by Paralimni Lyceum through its action in the research project PULCHRA Science in the City.
The award winning project “Innovative actions for regeneration and improvement in issues of accessibility of the area around the Paralimni Lyceum” aims at the dissemination of urban mobility to sustainable modes of transport, addressing significant challenges in the light of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Specifically, the team of Paralimni Lyceum, set as a goal the upgrade of the school environment, with the ultimate goal of the wider social benefit. In the context, they create a digital map, which presents the current data of the study area and the suggestions of the students, which focus on taking actions in the following points:
Infrastructure for all, Autonomy, Accessibility – Interconnection, Road Safety, Less air pollution, Better quality of life and Reduction of resource use.
