This is a piece written by Kandava Regional Secondary School`s Science Reporters, looking back on the first meeting of their PULCHRA project.
So, it happened that on a beautiful and quite sunny Thursday afternoon, the gathering of a peculiar team consisting of Kandava’s Regional Secondary School’s headmistress, four teachers, four students of class 12, eighteen students of class 6b, an environment guide and a historian occurred. For the very first time, the team that would take on the challenge of thoroughly discovering the city of Kandava finally saw the faces of their companions.
At first, we were introduced to each other, which was followed by a brief description of the PULCHRA project and its goal. Then, we were faced with a fun activity – the environment guide showed us a picture of famous people related to our city, and our task was to guess who they were. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that a boy from class 12 knew almost all of them.
During the last part of this meeting, the teachers and the experts shared some heart-warming stories of their best memories and references of Kandava.
Now, we are all working towards the same goal – making a mobile guide of Kandava so that other people can discover it, too, in a nice and comfortable way.
