Bernu Vides skola (BVS) is a non-profit organization for education and environment in Latvia. BVS was formed in 1989 and established as an independent national organization in 1992. Since its establishment, BVS has published more than 20 methodical materials – books, web sites, videos – on different environmental topics. The BVS implements a number of education programmes for schools and in-service teachers and develops learning programmes and curricula on such topics as sustainable development, outdoor education, integrated science teaching, inquiry based learning. BVS has considerable experience in developing and delivery of in-service training for teachers. Bernu Vides skola works closely with over 100 schools and adult education institutions in Latvia and with partners spread over 12 countries in Europe. BVS has experience of national and international project management. BVS is national coordinator for the GLOBE program
