Ornithologist Helps Attract More Bird Species

    By pulchra-ireland | blogposts | Comments are Closed | 5 April, 2022 | 0

Ornithologist Petr Bartes came to the park at TGM elementary school, Moravske Budejoviceand and gave valuable advice on how to attract more birds to the school grounds.

We invited the ornithologist to the park because there are currently only a few species of birds. The aim is to increase the number of bird species.

    Current Bird Species:

    • Eurasian blue tit,
    • Eurasian collared dove,
    • Great tit,
    • House sparrow,
    • Eurasian tree sparrow,
    • Western jackdaw.

We learned where to place two more birdhouses, how and when to clean them, where to place a bird waterer and what shrubs to plant for bird food (dog rose, wild privet, elderberry).

We also watched the birds that the ornithologist photographed. We managed to spot a western jackdaw.

We think that the ornithologist’s visit to the park helped us and gave us a lot of advice and ideas on how to attract more bird species to the park and thus improve it.
